The non-GMO soy protein isolate is not chemically precipitated, according to Protient, resulting in an undenatured isolated protein product very low in sodium. It is ideally suited for beverage applications due to its increased solubility and bland flavour profile, which does not have the typical beany and bitter notes found in other soy ingredients, the comapny claims.
In addition to the usual powder form, the soy protein isolate is available as a liquid concentrate, an ideal format for use in ready-to-drink beverage production.
"Protient non-GMO soy protein isolate gives formulators the opportunity to eliminate masking agents and to reduce overall flavour costs while delivering truly high-protein soy beverages, including lower formulations in sugars and total carbohydrates than soy milk-based products," said Tom Yezzi, vice president of operations for Protient.
"We are very excited about the start up of our soy processing facility. We feel the production of our very high quality soy protein isolate further strengthens our position as a preferred supplier of protein to the food industry."
Protient's bland-flavoured soy protein isolate can also be used in nutrition bars, baked products, meat simulators, extruded products and powdered beverages. The product is available in liquid, agglomerated, and spray dried powders.
Protient claims to be the world's fastest growing manufacturer of nutritional proteins, featuring whey and soy proteins.
