The non-UHT drinks come in three flavours - chocolate, strawberry and banana. The company intends the product to be sold in leading outlets such as Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, Planet Organic, Fresh & Wild and fitness centres throughout the UK.
The product, which is available in 250ml servings, contains no artificial colourings, no preservatives and no GM ingredients. The company says that it has a shelf life of 35 days, is 98 per cent fat-free and is made to a recipe approved by the Soil Association.
Classic Organic adds that the drinks are suitable for vegetarians.
Milk used in the drink is supplied by OMSCo - the Organic Milk Suppliers Co-operative - of which Classic Organic managing director Huw Ellis is a member.
"We have taken a great deal of time and care developing Cor!," said Ellis. "Many of the ingredients used in conventionally flavoured milk cannot be used in an organic product, but we have come up with a drink that has an extended shelf life, with flavours that people really like, while remaining completely organic."
Organic milk differs from non-organic because it comes from cows that are not fed GM cattle feed, are not routinely injected with antibiotics and do not graze on pastures sprayed with artificial pesticides. For more information contact enquiries@classic-organic.co.uk
