Mettler is selling two models of the scale. The Xpress Economy can be used when only gross weight reading is required. The scale can run on batterypower or AC power. The Xpress Economy comes with a stainless steel 304 platter, a six digit bright red LED display and overload and shock protection to 125 per cent of the scale capacity. Five models are available in theeconomy line, with capacities ranging from 60 to 600 pounds.
The Xpress Standard model, which is more expensive, is available in four different platform sizes and seven capacities. The scale has an over and under indicator. It is made of stainless steel and can be used for portion control, such asin food processing, packaging and agricultural operations. Nine models are available in the standard line, with capacities ranging from five to 500 pounds.
"Its advanced, pre-calibrated technology makes it easy to use, and ready to weigh out of the box," Mettler said in a press release. "The market has been asking for this technology, prepared for food and harsh or wet environments, and the Xpress Bench Scale line delivers."
Customers have the choice of purchasing the scale, the computerised terminal or the full package, depending on their needs.
