Palletiser speeds up line, stacks fragile beverages

To meet the demand for faster processing lines, Columbia Machine's has developed a speedier palletiser that can stack even the most fragile beverage products, the company claims.

To boost productivity and improve output more and more companies are turning to fasting and bigger machines for plant processing.

Columbia Machine's high-speed palletiser, the HL8000, can stack cases, trays and fridge-ready packs. It can handle packages wrapped in shrink-film with pad or with shrink film only.

The HL8000's soft turning conveyor section uses variable frequency drives to turn and arrange beverage cases with no impact on the product, the company claims.

The machine is designed in a modular manner, with each layer accumulation section used to obtain speeds up to 150 cases per minute while at the same time palletising 12-pack beverage cases in16-case patterns.

The machine uses programmable logic and motion controls for easy operation. A variable-speed, servo-driven hoist provides control while obtaining high speeds and ensuring careful product handling, the company stated.

The HL8000 palletizer has been designed for easy cleaning to meet the demand for frequent washdowns by the food industry.
