The new DIN-coupling taps have been created to fit four standard container openings, 45mm, 50mm, 51mm and 61mm, and are flexible enough to fit a wide variety of container types with sizes from five to 200 litres.
Compatible containers for the Aeroflow range include metal containers such as Jerricans, cubitainers (carboard boxes with plastic bag inserts) and rigid plastic receptacles. The taps are designed to work with anything from water and beverages to liquid food, chemicals and viscous liquids.
Air-returning dispensers
Company spokeswoman Stephanie Humez told FoodProductionDaily.com: “There were no or limited quality air-returning dispensers on offer in the market for the four standard sizes of container opening mentioned – hence the request from clients to enlarge the product range.”
Humez added that food and drink manufacturers and other packaging producers were amongst WD Europe’s main clients, and said that the new tap range filled a clear gap in the market.
Specific food and beverage applications for the product varied, she said:“They differ according to the geographical area we are selling to, but water, industrial food liquid and chemicals are large markets for us.”
WD Europe’s Aeroflow tap has been designed for single-opening containers and is said to provide a ‘glug-free’ dispense with no product waste. It has a claimed flow rate of 70ml per second when fully open, with users able to control the precise rate to suit individual products or applications by adjusting the lever.
Olivier Martin, general sales manager, WD Europe, added: The Aeroflow tap has been very successful thanks to its flexibility and the new sizes will offer even more options for end-user markets.
“We have plans to expand the range in the future, as well as looking as bespoke, custom moulded dispense projects.”
