The PET containers were created in 50ml, 750ml, 1L, and 1.75L sizes and produced for McCormick Distilling Co. to launch their Montego Bay Coconut Rum.
Most of the weight is at the bottom of the bottle and the neck rises to present a “strong stance,” said Myles Graybill, Amcor project engineer.
The design features a squat base and long neck for the beverage firm’s entry into the flavoured rum market.
The container delivers sustainability advantages, resulting in reduced shipping and transportation costs, said the McCormick.
It was designed to be rigid in order to mimic the look, strength, and robust feel of glass but be one-sixth the weight and recyclable, they added.
