Eastman’s dispute with CertiChem and PlastiPure related to the whether Tritan, marketed as a BPA-alternative, was free of chemicals with estrogenic activity (EA).
The firm proved that false and misleading statements were made against Tritan and said it continues to rigorously test using independent third-party studies.
Lucian Boldea, vice president and general manager, Advance Materials-Specialty Plastics at Eastman, said: “We remain committed to the commercial success of Tritan and will continue to grow by exploring new markets and collaborating with our customers to develop new, innovative applications that meet consumer demands.”
More than 600 food contact products, including food serving and storing items, reusable sports bottles and infant care products are made with Tritan.
