Dawn of the Dairy: Dean Foods launches Halloween milks

Dean Foods has launched limited edition Halloween versions of its TruMoo milks.

Lowfat Vanilla and Lowfat Chocolate flavours will be sold throughout October 2013, packaged in ghost- and pumpkin-decorated bottles. Lowfat Vanilla TruMoo is tinted bright orange.

The company recommends that the Halloween milks are drunk on their own, or used to make seasonally-themed smoothies and treats.

"With the success of last Halloween's limited edition release in the northeast, we thought all ghosts and goblins across America should get to enjoy Halloween-inspired TruMoo this year," said Greg Schwarz, marketing VP, Dean Foods.

Schwarz claimed the drinks were “nutritious”, and parents would be satisfied with a product their children will enjoy. Dallas-based Dean Foods says its Halloween line is made from locally-sourced milk, without high-fructose corn syrup and with calcium, protein, vitamins A, D and B12, riboflavin, phosphorus and potassium.

Regular TruMoo chocolate, vanilla and strawberry milk varieties are available in 10-, 12-, 14- and 16-ounce bottles.
