The Linx 5900 ink jet printer prints the PE caps with a use by date and batch code on its 250ml to 2L size products.
The coding speed is up to 92 bottles/min and on average one bottle is coded every two seconds, eight hours a day, five days a week.
Rob Stillman, engineering manager, Fruitapeel, said it had to replace its current printers because they were unreliable, with poor print quality and they needed to keep being readjusted which led to expensive maintenance.
“We code a lot of products and the Linx 5900 has freed up our time to get on with other things – it doesn’t need any intervention other than adding fluids,” he said.
Fruitapeel was established four years ago in Wales, UK and manufactures juices, smoothies and fruit sauces for supermarket own labels, airlines and the retail sector.
