Carlsberg Somersby cider sales soar in Portugal
The CEO of Portuguese brewer Unicer says he is 'very excited' by the momentum that Carlsberg brand Somersby is gaining in the country, where there is no history of hard cider consumption.
Joao Abecasis discussed new product launches with delegates at the InnoBev Global Soft Drinks Conference in Lisbon yesterday.
He said the move to add Somersby (initially a UK rollout for Carlsberg) to the Unicer system in Portugal was one of the company's most exciting moves in 2014.
Unicer distributes Carlsberg brands throughout Portugal and is 44% owned by the Danish brewer.
