Stay Fresh Foods doubles its HPP capacity
Stay Fresh Foods, a high-pressure processing (HPP) toll provider using Avure technology, is putting in place equipment that will double its HPP capacity. The company produces healthy beverages, meats, and wet salads.
The Stay Fresh Foods team recently took delivery of its second Avure HPP system, a 350-L machine that will increase the producer’s capacity for processing juice, deli meat, salads, and other HPP-treated foods.
Increased HPP demand
Amy Lawless, Stay Fresh Foods managing director, told FoodProductionDaily the increased demand for HPP-produced foods and beverages necessitated the additional line. The installation, she said, is good news for Stay Fresh Foods and its industry clientele.
“We’re not just celebrating our expansion, but also the success our customers are experiencing with HPP as a part of their approach to production,” she said. “When we see our customers grow as a result of our partnership with them, we take it very personally and celebrate with them as we have seen some of them double and even triple their output.”
Broader capacity
Matt Rutherford, senior vice president of sales for Avure Technologies, said the additional HPP equipment will enable Stay Fresh Foods to offer more flexibility and reliability to its toll customers.
According to Stay Fresh Foods, the company has seen business increase as interest in, and trust of, HPP as a method to produce foods and beverages while extending shelf life, has broadened.
Lawless reports the expansion of the Stay Fresh Food operation will create approximately 40 new jobs.
