Niagara Bottling taps into safety software
Niagara Bottling, a Nebraska-based production specializing in bottled water, is installing food safety and quality management software from Presage at all 18 of its plants. The software is designed to increase the safety of food and beverage environments.
Fast-moving operation
Ryan Schwaner, director of quality and food safety at Niagara Bottling, told FoodProductionDaily the market dictates the company work at a high rate of production. That, in turn, calls for fast response on safety and quality analysis.
“We work in a fast-paced environment that requires immediate feedback on our product quality testing,” he said. “Presage Analytics is a tool that has quickly given us new insights into our food safety operations, and we look forward to expanding this collaboration.”
Automated safety
The Presage software is geared toward automating a food or beverage operation’s food safety and quality assurance, avoiding recalls and rejection due to error and contamination. The product can be customized to meet the needs of a particular production environment.
Bryce Hughes, corporate quality systems manager for Niagara Bottling, said the quality and safety management program has topped the producer’s original performance expectations.
“The ability to use a single software package to address a variety of needs is an incredible bonus for our company," he said.
Traceability tool
The Presage software offers traceability, with advanced search filtering for ease of data location.
Operators can collect data via mobile devices for paper-free operations. Other features include ability to customize reports, real-time electronic alerts, analytical chart capabilities, and specification comparisons to verify supplier compliance.
