Coke launches adult soft drink Finley in Belgium to stem adult soft drinks age decline

Coca-Cola Enterprises has launched low-calorie adult soft drink Finley in Belgium and Luxembourg after success in France for the firm's largest national launch since Coca-Cola Zero.

Rolled-out in France from April, Finley is a low-calorie soft drink with only natural flavors and fine bubbles. It is sold in blood orange & grapefruit and lemon & elderflower flavors.

CCE said today it had developed the drink to refresh a "more mature palate" - with the taste balanced between sweet and bitter and only 20 calories/100ml, the drink is sweetened with sugar and stevia and has no added preservatives.

Finley has been sold in 1.5 liter PET bottles and 250ml cans in Belgium and Luxembourg from September 2 2014.

"One study found that the tendency to love fizzy drinks declines with age, with only one in ten adults likely to choose a soft drink during a break. Composed of fine bubbles, elaborate flavours and natural ingredients, Finley offers a great alternative, perfectly suited to the demands of adult taste buds," CCE said.

CCE began developing the drink in 2001 at Coca-Cola’s R&D centre in Anderlecht, Belgium – the second largest Coca-Cola innovation hub in the world.
