Ohio-based Pro Mach has announced the acquisition of automated bottle unscrambler and orientor manufacturer Pace Packaging as it continues an M&A spending spree it started earlier this week.

Mark Anderson, Pro Mach CEO and president, welcomed the New Jersey-based company into the group of companies, which sell everything from automated pouches to case packers, labelling, marking and coding systems and filling equipment.

“Pace systems will fit in well with our existing bottling, capping and primary packaging product lines and provide opportunities for us to increase our integrated system product offering,” he said.

Pace president Ken Regula will join Pro Mach as VP and general manager while Glenn Kelley, VP sales, Pace, will join Pro Mach in the same role.

"Joining Pro Mach is an outstanding opportunity for Pace. Our customers will have greater access to product lines. We will also have opportunities to create products," said Regula.

On Monday, FoodProductionDaily.com reported Pro Mach had acquired Benchmark Automation, who make stacking and packaging equipment for food and bakery manufacturers.

Pro Mach now owns 20+ equipment brands that are sold throughout the world.

As well as bottling and capping, Pro Mach manufactures primary and secondary packaging, flexible packaging, end-of-line packaging, material handling, and identification and tracking.

In recent years the company has increased its focus on markets outside North America, particularly Latin America and Europe.

Pro Mach is based in Cincinnati, Ohio and has manufacturing facilities and offices throughout the US, Canada, and Europe.
