Smurfit Kappa opens €28m Bag-in-Box plant in Spain

Smurfit Kappa has opened a €28m Bag-in-Box plant in Ibi, Spain, due to growing demand in the region.

The facility includes a showroom and training centre and will produce taps and bags under one roof.

Pascual Martinez, general manager, Smurfit Kappa, said the plant is ‘a big step up for Bag-in-Box activities both within the company and within the Mediterranean region.

It couldn’t have come at a better time, when the demand for top-class Bag-in-Box packaging products is getting bigger,” he added.
