Daniel Fisher, president, metal beverage packaging, Ball North America, told FoodProductionDaily

This is Ball’s first beverage packaging plant in Mexico. It will house two production lines and will be built in the Finsa Guadalupe Industrial Park in Nuevo Leon,” he said.

We also have an existing extruded aluminium aerosol manufacturing plant in San Luis Potosi, Mexico.

The plant will produce standard and specialty beer packaging. We cannot disclose the customer at this point.”

Facility will create 200 jobs

Fisher added, as part of the investment, the company will employ more than 200 people at the plant.

We decided to open a plant in Monterrey to serve a growing demand for this type of packaging in the area,” he said.

As part of our Drive for 10 vision, we are always looking for opportunities to expand our customer base and product portfolio.

What is significant about this region is that it allows us to broaden our geographic reach into a new, growing market.”

Ball’s Drive for 10 vision identifies five areas that are key to growing the businesses; maximizing value in its existing businesses; expanding into new products and capabilities; aligning itself with the right customers and markets; broadening geographic reach, and leveraging know-how and technological expertise.
