Kelly will replace Fay Dashper, who steps down after four years in the role.
“This is an exciting time to join ACE UK as recycling and sustainability continues to rise up the political agenda, particularly in light of the most recent Circular Economy proposals outlined by the European Commission,” she said.
“My predecessor is well known and respected in the industry and I am looking forward to building on the work she has done by further developing and extending carton recycling, and highlighting cartons as a sustainable, low carbon packaging choice for beverages and beyond.”
Kelly began her career at Bridgewater Paper Mill in 1983, in finance and accounting, before joining Cheshire Recycling where she moved into business development, designing and implementing their recycling growth strategy. Shem oved to Palm Recycling in 2010.
She was also a member of the Confederation of Paper Industries (CPI) Recovered Paper Committee, and a founder member of the Resource Association, as well as an elected board director.
Richard Hands, CEO, ACE UK, said Kelly knows the recycling industry inside out and her local authority knowledge and contacts will be a real asset to the role.
