It includes the Pegasus Advance (palletising robot), Orion Advance (In-line palletiser) and Vega Advance (Shrink wrapping machine).
Packetto packaging technology
Davide Morellini, production manager, OCME, told BeverageDaily, recent launches include the Packetto packaging technology to reduce film usage in shrink wrapping bottles and cans by 35%, followed by the Advanced range and it now plans to hold OCME branded events across the globe.
The first one was last month in Lagos, Nigeria, focusing on Lube Oil: ‘Sustainability and Productivity in the Lube Packaging’, with the support of Lupan (Lubricant Producers Association of Nigeria).
The second one will be an Open house at the company's headquarters in Parma, Italy, to see a plant configuration, based on loose bottle multi-flavour palletizing, in April.
“OCME experts will focus on a particular topic to lead the future trends of the market,” said Morellini.
“It has come about thanks to the Research & Development department, which always keeps up with the market trends, anticipating the customer’s needs, responding with targeted technology.
“Packetto, for example was born to meet the needs of customers looking to improve the appearance of shrink-wrapped packs, eliminate the wrinkles and the film overlap usually found on the shoulders of this kind of pack - even those with complex artworks.
“The Advance Range was developed to overcome the current speed limits at the end of a production line and to offer our customers the fastest system on the market.”
Shrink wrap packs for bottles & cans
Based in Parma, Italy, OCME manufactures primary and secondary packaging machines including fillers, end-of-line and logistic machines for the beverages, food, detergent, petro-chemical and tissue sectors.
It operates across the UK, US, Mexico, Thailand, South Africa, China and France.
Packetto can be applied to its Vega shrink-wrapping machine and increases the quality and aesthetics of the bundle, saving money and raw materials, whilst respecting the environment.
It reduces the width and gauge of film used to produce shrink wrap packs for bottles and cans and a specially designed integrated carry pack handle ensures no additional packaging is required.
The Packetto system also allows companies to directly print their branding onto the shrink wrap, enhancing its on-shelf appeal or to promote marketing opportunities such as ‘party tray packs’ that can be used as a cooler when ice is added.
It can be installed on OCME packaging machines and retrofitted to existing OCME machinery.
“With the growth of its internal and external events, OCME has decided to launch another concept the OCME EVENTS: a series of events, 100% OCME branded, organized in different countries to share the latest market trends with industry experts,” added Morellini.
