3D inspection of beverage cans and glasses exceeds speeds of 1,200 containers per minute
The system can generate 3D maps of a container's surface using a multi-point laser scanning technology.
Level of accuracy
Leon Coetzee, VP, product marketing, Filtec, claims AURAtec stands out for its ability to produce powerful 3D assessments of a container’s pressure profile, at inspection speeds exceeding 1,200 containers per minute.
The system is not affected by container positioning variances on the X, Y, or Z axis, and is tolerant to normal production line conditions.
Lindsey Saletta, marketing manager, Filtec, told BeverageDaily, the biggest differentiator of this machine is the level of accuracy with which it performs pressure inspection.
“The other pressure inspection technologies currently on the market use only one laser line to detect pressure inconsistencies,” she said.
“A slight variation in container position (very common in normal line operation) immediately throws off current laser inspection technology.
Replaces analogue or acoustic based systems
“The AURAtec, in contrast, maps the surface of the container and has built in contingencies that automatically recalculate to account for normal variations in container placement. This is a huge improvement on the current market.”
She added the technology replaces traditional analogue or acoustic based systems with an ultrahigh resolution 3D vision that excels in robustness and longevity.
The AURAtec is available to buy this month, with first deliveries in the fourth quarter of the year. It can be used as a stand-alone inspection unit or integrated with existing Filtec products.
