Amcor launches clear PET bottles for dairy, aseptic and HPP liquid beverages

Amcor Rigid Plastics has launched a series of clear polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottles and preforms for dairy, aseptic, and high-pressure processed (HPP) liquid beverages.

The range is available in round, hourglass, and square shapes and comes in four sizes (12oz, 16oz, 32oz, and 64oz).

On-the-go consumers

Alex Warren, manager, marketing and strategic business development, Amcor Beverage Business Unit, said the stock bottles and preforms can be used for liquids such as cold-fill for dairy and juice, aseptic for dairy and juice, and HPP for juice.

These premium bottles are aesthetically-pleasing, easy to handle, and meet the needs of on-the-go consumers,” he said.

They are spill-proof and offer higher quality and better sealing than competitive containers.

Convenient sizes meet today’s busy consumer lifestyles and enable healthier, controlled portion sizes.”

Amcor can produce custom bottle designs from 8oz to 16oz for single-serve and 28oz to 68oz for multiple-serve applications and it includes wrap, shrink, or pressure-sensitive labels.

Multiple applications

Warren added, the product line allows for multiple applications and one-stop shopping for manufacturers thanks to the availability of three shapes, four bottle capacities, three finishes, and three filling types.

He said the portfolio is designed with compelling shapes and designs for shelf appeal to differentiate brands and technologies include the lightweight Bericap Aseptic finish.

Capital costs are reduced because fewer change parts are required to change from incumbent bottles as well as between the different shapes of a given size in the stock portfolio. This cost advantage applies to both the filling equipment and the blow molding machine,” he added.
