At the World Economic Forum in Davos today, Stella Artois and Water.org have announced the multi-year extension of the ‘Buy a Lady a Drink’ campaign, a project co-founded by Matt Damon and Gary White.
They are also calling on international business leaders, corporations, consumers and media to help end the global water crisis.
Brazil, Chili, Uruguay…
In the developing world, one in 10 people do not have access to safe water. This problem disproportionately affects women and children, who have to collect water instead of working, caring for family or attending school.
The "Buy a Lady a Drink" campaign was launched two years ago. Since then, Stella Artois has helped Water.org provide more than 800,000 people in the developing world with access to five years of clean water, with the sale of more than 225,000 limited edition chalices and donations of more than $3m to Water.org.
As part of the campaign extension, there will be more money invested and additional countries will join the program (including Brazil, Canada, Chile and Uruguay).
Buy a bottle, donate to water project
Consumers can contribute to the campaign by purchasing limited edition Stella Artois chalices. For every chalice sold, Stella Artois will help water.org provide a person with five years of clean water.
The 2017 limited edition chalices feature designs from Cambodian, Brazilian and Ugandan artists.
Meanwhile, for every six or 12 bottle pack of Stella Artois sold in select US and UK retail stores, Stella Artois will help Water.org provide six or 12 months of clean water for one person.
For every pint or bottle of beer sold in select US and UK bars and restaurants, Stella Artois will help Water.org provide one month of clean water for one person in the developing world.
Stella Artois is an AB InBev beer brand, sold in 95 countries.
