The figures have been compiled based on beer sales volume.
The Brewers Association says that the variety of brewers, alongside the growth of small and independent producers, are helping make the craft brewing industry what it is today.
A full State of the Industry report will be delivered during the 2017 Craft Brewers Conference next month (Washington D.C, April 10-13).
The Brewers Association’s definition of a craft brewer is one that is small, independent and traditional. Criteria include an annual production of 6 million barrels of beer or less; and with less than 25% of the brewery owned or controlled by an alcoholic beverage company that is not itself a craft brewer.
