Agropur Ingredients has streamlined its US business by dividing it into three sectors: nutrition solutions, dairy solutions, and custom solutions to better serve their customers’ needs.

“Over the last year or so, we’ve been kind of taking a step back in Agropur US operations and looking what we all have to offer as far as technology, products, capabilities, and services, making sure we really understood all of those products,” Agropur Ingredients marketing and communications manager, Corrie Drellack, told DairyReporter at IFT 2017.

Agropur’s newly-formed dairy solutions platform has a global reach with 75% of its products sold and shipped to countries outside of the US, offering a range of dairy ingredients including: lactose, premium deproteinized whey, Crinolac dairy product solids, and Iso Chill 8000 and 8010.

The company also does contract manufacturing for sports nutrition and health and wellness industries under its Custom Solutions platform, Drellack said.

Focus on clean dairy ingredients

“What’s really interesting about us is we have the technology knowledge in manufacturing of ingredients and we have resources to some of the purest dairy ingredients out there,” Drellack said.

Falling in line with its focus on clean dairy ingredients, Agropur recently launched BioZate 7&3 ingredients under its nutrition solutions platform. BioZate 7&3 are hydrolyzed whey proteins with high amino acid availability currently being used to fortify protein content in beverages, infant formulas and snack products.

“The way we differentiated our hydrolyzed whey proteins is we start with a very clean ion exchange protein isolate that eliminates all the extraneous factors in terms of flavors and other difficulties that customers might face,”  Anand Rao, vice president of research and development for Agropur Ingredients, told DairyReporter.

As the company further carves out and develops the three components of its US dairy ingredients business it will continue to emphasize and broaden the intersection of the food and nutrition industries, Drellack added.
