Coca-Cola Plus Coffee launches in Australia

Coca-Cola has launched Coca-Cola Plus Coffee in Australia today: a cola with ‘the delicious taste of Coca-Cola Classic but with the unmistakable aroma of real coffee’.

The beverage is a limited edition that will be available over the summer months.

“It’s a fresh take on the delicious taste of Coca-Cola Classic, but with the unmistakable aroma of real coffee, subtle caramel undertones and no sugar! Get in quick as it’s only available over summer,” says Coca-Cola Amatil.

Ginger, coffee… where next for Coke flavors?

Last year Coca-Cola launched Coca-Cola Ginger in Australia as its summer limited edition: a drink that Coca-Cola released to tap into the popularity of ginger beer (non-alcoholic carbonated soft drink) in Australia.

This year, Coca-Cola Plus Coffee has been designed to meet Australia’s growing coffee culture.

Coca-Cola Australia spokesperson Lisa Winn said: “Australians have a love affair with coffee so we thought why not give them more of what they want – the great taste of Coca-Cola with a dash of real coffee from Brazil.”

While Coca-Cola Plus Coffee was also recently launched in Japan, the Australian version differs in that it is sugar free.

It contains less caffeine than a regular latte or flat white; but slightly more than the classic Coca-Cola.

Australia was also the launch market for Coca-Cola No Sugar – the new version of Coca-Cola Zero – in June this year.

Other varieties of Coca-Cola in Australia include Coca-Cola Classic (sweetened with sugar), Coca-Cola with Stevia (50% less sugar than Coca-Cola classic, replacing Coca-Cola Life) and Diet Coca-Cola (sweetened with aspartame and acesulfame K).
