The Petainer Innovation Centre is based at Cranfield Technical Innovation Park in Milton Keynes, UK, which is home to tech giants Nissan and BAe Systems, and will provide a showcase and presentation suite for customers and prospects.
The company has now recruited a team of technical and product development experts who are based at the centre.
Speaking to BeverageDaily at drinktec in Munich this month, Craig Pope, sales director, Special Projects, Petainer said the company is constantly investing in next generation one-way keg products, and following the launch of the Innovation Centre it plans to launch a hybrid keg in October.
He said Petainer produces PET kegs ranging in size from 15litre, 20litre and 30litre that suit all types of filling systems from manual, to semi and fully automatic.
It recently added a G-type fitting to its 30litre portfolio. All the kegs have a nine-month shelf life.
“The advantage of the 30litre keg advantage is that it can be filled upside down, it is ergonomically designed and disassembles at the end of its shelf life, so it can go back into the recycling stream,” said Pope.
“The keg presents exciting branding opportunities and comes with standard user instructions on the outside.”
