Alfa Laval to install $38m processing line at Mexican brewery

Alfa Laval Food & Water Division has won a $38m order to supply a processing line to a brewery plant in Mexico, scheduled for 2018.

The order comprises of equipment for a complete brewery process line, including process modules, valves, heat exchangers, mixers and other types of fluid handling equipment.

The line will handle fermentation of yeast as well as the maturation and filtration of beer.

Nish Patel, president, Food & Water Division, Alfa Laval, said it was one of the biggest orders in the history of the company for a brewery, confirming its technology meets the highest standards when it comes to efficiency, reliability and performance.

According to El Economista, beer production in Mexico increased by 8% during 2016 to 10.5 billion liters and the country is the fourth largest brewer in the world. 

Alfa Laval’s portfolio includes supplying heat transfer, separation and fluid handling systems to heat, cool, separate and transport products in industries that produce food and beverages, starch, sugar and ethanol, among others.

It operates across 100 countries with approximately 17,000 employees and posted €3.77bn annual sales in 2016.
