Los Angeles-based chain The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf (CBTL) is celebrating the 25th anniversary of the sitcom ‘Friends’ with limited edition drinks named after the lead characters.

A partnership with Warner Bros. Consumer Products will help celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Friends premiere this coming September. CBTL is selling both coffee and tea products named for the characters and their coffeehouse.

The Central Perk Tea is a black tea, sweet and woody with a citrus flavor. CBTL said it is hand-plucked at the foot of Mount Kenya, which is surrounded by a belt of verdant forest at its base.

A Central Perk Medium Roast sourced from Colombia and Brazil is available, and CBTL says it is “harvested, pulped, fermented, and washed and dried to parchment on the farms. Dry milling, sorting and grading is done at the Andes mill.” A Central Perk Dark Roast with chocolate undertones is a darker version of the medium roast.

The coffees are available in 12oz bags on the company’s website along with 20-count teabags, and all three are at CBTL locations through the rest of the summer.

Also a part of the promotion are six hand-crafted drinks sold at CBTL cafes. Fans of the show will find a beverage for each of their favorite characters. The Joey is a mango cold brew tea, The Monica is a midnight mocha cold brew and The Rachel is a matcha latte.

The Ross is a classic flat white, The Chandler is a caramel coconut latte and The Phoebe is a cookies and cream ice blended. All six will be available until August 27.

CBTL has cafe locations nationwide, mostly concentrated in southern California. It’s also an international brand with a large presence in Asia. Last summer, it announced its plan to open 100 locations across New York City over the next 10 years.
