C&C Group plc is rebranding its business in Ireland to combine its two main operating businesses - C&C Gleeson and Bulmers Limited - under the unified trading name of Bulmers Ireland.

The combination under Bulmers Ireland - named after the well-known Bulmers cider - came into effect on August 1.

“Trading as Bulmers Ireland, our objective is to better align our business units in Ireland under one corporate identity, which reflects the strength and standing of Bulmers, one of Ireland's most iconic brands,” says the company.

“The modernisation and simplification of our business model in Ireland will support our customer base and enhance our service.”

Online ordering platform

As it evolves to meet the challenges posed by COVID-19, a new online ordering platform and customer portal system, Bulmers Direct, has been launched. Customers can access the portal from any digital device.

To support the wider hospitality industry, the company has also launched the LOCAL app and website www.mylocaldelivers.ie.

Aimed at supporting pubs, clubs and restaurants with limited technology, LOCAL connects customers with local food and drinks businesses to facilitate home deliveries, click-and-collect and on-premise table service.

Transaction fees of 2% per order will be re-invested into LOCAL, while any excess income from the platform in 2020 will be donated to healthcare charities across Ireland.

C&C Group’s portfolio of brands includes Bulmers (Magners outside of Ireland); Scottish beer brand Tennent’s; Heverlee, Menabrea and Orchard Pig.
