Mushroom shots

Functional beverage company So Good So You is launching new organic, plant-based, cold-pressed probiotic shots: each tailored to support specific wellness journeys (like mood and immunity).

‘Immunity Powered by Mushroom’ – with a blueberry clementine flavor with shiitake, maitake and reishi mushrooms and 100% RDV of vitamin C – is now available; as is strawberry and plum ‘Fiber’.

In January, two new shots will also be launched. ‘Happy’ features ashwagandha and saffron and 100% RDV of vitamin D3. Meanwhile, the newest Energy shot – made with passion fruit juice and containing the same amount of caffeine as a cup of coffee sources from organic coffeeberry – will hit shelves in Target.

Potato chip brand Lay’s has launched a limited edition, ‘one-of-a-kind’ vodka.

Created in collaboration with Eastside Distilling, Lay’s Vodka has been crafted from a blend of Portland Potato Vodka and vodka distilled from Lay’s proprietary potatoes for a crisp, clean finish.

The spirit is available online from Eastside Distilling for $40 while stocks last.

Standaconé launches in the US

Canadian gin distiller Standaconé will make its US debut in 2022.

Set in the heart of the beguiling Limoilou neighborhood of Québec City, the Stadaconé Distillery takes its name from the Iroquoian village that existed there when European settlers led by Jacques Cartier first arrived in 1535.

The first US launch, Stadaconé Noir, evokes the maritime Spice Routes that once linked the East with the West for European traders and explorers. “The addition of kaffir lime, Tasmanian berry, seeds of paradise and lavender give this gin its tropical notes. On the nose, one picks up an essence of lemongrass, while in the mouth, citrus flavors and peppery notes are discovered.”

Stadaconé’s ready-to-drink Gingria will be added later in the year. The canned drink offers a Québec-style nod to the traditional Spanish sangria: showcasing Stadaconé Rouge gin and cranberry juice instead of the traditional red wine.

Cocchi Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry

Vermouth brand Cocchi has introduced a new addition to its already famous range with the launch of Cocchi Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry.

The Italian aperitivo maker is tapping into the growing appetite for the category driven by the current cocktail boom. The new vermouth will be available in the on and off-trade via UK distribution Speciality Brands.

“With this new expression, Cocchi is celebrating Piedmont, the birth place of Italian vermouth. Wine-forward and elegant, Cocchi Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry uses a “Ricetta Piemontese” ("Piedmontese Recipe") with all the main ingredients coming, or with strong links to the region,” notes Speciality Brands.

“The base wine used is made of quality, local Cortese grapes, the same used for Gavi DOCG and botanicals such as wormwood, angelica, coriander, cardamom, lemon peel and Menta di Pancalieri, a Piedmontese mint.”

Cocchi Extra Dry can be used with classic cocktails such as the Martini or the Bamboo; served long with elderflower tonic or soda water; or sipped over ice.

Cocchi Vermouth di Torino Extra Dry (50cl, 17% ABV) is launching to trade partners this month with a RRP of £19.

Light Cider

Texas cidery Austin Eastciders is launching a line of Light Ciders: creating another ‘better-for-you’ option in alcohol to rival light beers and seltzers.

The Light Cider line is launching with four flavors: Cucumber Agave, Strawberry Lemonade, Mango Mimosa and Texas Brut.

“Staying true to Austin Eastciders’ commitment to real fruit and no artificial sweeteners, Austin Eastciders Light Cider comes in at just one-hundred calories per serving to set a new standard in the better-for-you alcohol space,” says the cidery. “Each flavor starts with the fermentation of apple juice and is then blended with real fruit juice.”

Launching this month, Austin Eastciders Light Cider will be available in a Variety Pack with all four flavors, along with a six pack of Texas Brut and Mango Mimosa, and both flavors on draft.
