Anne-Marie D’Angelo has become Molson Coors’ Chief Legal and Government Affairs Officer, stepping into the role last month.

D’Angelo, who was previously executive vice president, general counsel and corporate secretary for NiSource Inc., becomes a member of Molson Coors’ leadership team and is based in Chicago.

As the company’s top lawyer, D’Angelo is responsible for all legal matters, including corporate governance, securities law and regulatory compliance, as well as the company’s government affairs.  

Over the course of her 20-year legal career, the Notre Dame Law School graduate spent 13 years at McDonald’s Corp., before being named general counsel and corporate secretary of Global Brass and Copper Holdings Inc.

In 2019, she joined Merrillville, Ind.-based NiSource, one of the largest fully regulated utility companies in the US with about 4 million natural gas and electric customers. There, she led a department of 58 attorneys and legal professionals.

D’Angelo also serves on the Legal Advisory Board for Catholic Charities, and she is an active member of the American Bar Association, the Association of Corporate Counsel and the Hispanic National Bar Association.

She takes over from E. Lee Reichert, who retired from Molson Coors in September and now serves as deputy attorney general of business and licensing for Colorado.

The Brewers Association has appointed three members to the Board of Directors. Each will serve a two-year term when the board begins its new term in February.

The new members are:

  • Pamela Brulotte, founder, Icicle Brewing, Munchen Haus Bavarian Grill and Beer Garden, Leavenworth, Wash.
  • Peter Skrbek, CFO, Deschutes Brewery, Bend, Ore.
  • Fred Matt, president, Saranac Brewery/Matt Brewing Co., Utica, N.Y.

Meanwhile, the American Homebrewers Association (AHA) Governing Committee has appointed Cassie Salinas of Everett, Wash., to fill one of its two seats on the BA board. Salinas will serve a three-year term beginning in February 2022.

The new board members join five recently elected board members:

  • Tomme Arthur, co-founder, Port Brewing and The Lost Abbey, San Marcos, Calif. 
  • Leah Cheston, owner, Right Proper Brewing Company, Washington, D.C. 
  • Jason Lavery, president/founding brewer, Lavery Brewing Company, Erie, Pa. 
  • Garrett Marrero, CEO/co-founder, Maui Brewing Co., Kihei, Hawaii 
  • Holly Redding, managing member, Winchester Brew Works, Winchester, Va. 

Current board members moving off the board in February are Leslie Henderson, Lazy Magnolia Brewing Co., Kiln, Miss; Larry Horwitz, TEN20 Craft Brewery, Louisville, Ky.; Jose Mallea, Biscayne Bay Brewing, Miami, Fla; and Jill Marilley, AHA appointee, Everett, Wash.

Budweiser Brewing Group UK&I, part of AB InBev, has announced Brian Perkins as President of the UK & Ireland and Spanish businesses.

Perkins takes over from Paula Lindenberg and will be responsible for the brewer’s portfolio which in the UK includes Budweiser, Bud Light, Corona, Stella Artois and Camden.

Brian has worked at AB InBev since 2011 and has held several senior roles including VP and Head of Sales, Marketing and Digital Transformation for EMEA, Co-founder and Head of Growth for B2B and VP of Global Sales for the Premium and Super Premium brand portfolio. His experience covers marketing, commercial strategy, finance, disruptive growth, innovation and B2B technology. Perkins studied at Cambridge University.

As Zone Europe Commercial and Marketing VP, Perkins was co-architect of the UK&I strategy and has worked closely with the UK team for more than a year.  He will continue the plans for large scale investment in breweries, logistics, customer service, B2B technology and people.

Typhoo Tea has appointed Rocio Ortiz as responsible sourcing manager and enlisted the services of Lesley Western as corporate social responsibility consultant as it builds on its ethical agenda.

The move follows a business restructure last year which involved London-based private equity firm Zetland Capital becoming a majority shareholder and investment firm Abercross expand its shareholding.

“With the support of our shareholders, we have a renewed focus on growing Typhoo Tea and its brands, but it’s important to us that we do so in a responsible manner,"​ said Des Kingsley, chief executive officer of Typhoo Tea. “The new team brings an incredible wealth of experience in brand building and responsible sourcing strategy, and have hit the ground running as we continue to rebuild one of the nation’s favorite tea brands.”

Rocio Ortiz spend five years working on community socio-economic development and wellbeing in Africa and India. Her work with the Spanish Red Cross focused on developing sustainable livelihoods for rural communities and women farmers. Meanwhile, Lesley Western has worked with giants such as Tesco and Asda.

Pernod Ricard USA is expanding its Washington, D.C.-based government relations team with two new executives.

Joseph Durso, senior director, public affairs; and Maura Jeffords, director, public affairs and policy; will both report to Tara Engel, vice president, public and national affairs.

Durso is a former elected official with extensive experience in government relations, public policy, and issues advocacy. He served as Vice President of Public Affairs for Embrace Families, Inc., a recognized national leader in child welfare services, for more than 17 years. Durso was instrumental in expanding the Orlando, Fla.-based organization’s operations nationally, and in developing effective health care and social service policy at the local, state, and federal levels. 

In addition to his work at Embrace Families, Durso served as Longwood, Florida’s Mayor and District 2 City Commissioner from 2008-2017, becoming the youngest mayor in the city’s history.  He was also a professor of political science at the University of Central Florida. 

Jeffords is a public policy and government relations professional with comprehensive background in international trade, economic law, tax and regulatory issues in the private and public sectors. For more than a decade, she applied her expertise while serving in a series of public policy and government relations roles for Diageo in North America, Latin America and the Caribbean, and for Diageo Global. Previously, she worked at the US Department of Commerce, investigating allegations of unfairly traded imports into the US market.
