Odyssey Elixir partners with 7-Eleven and Wegmans to bring functional mushrooms “out of niche spaces”
Three of Odyssey Elixirs SKUs, Passion Orange Guava, Dragon Fruit Lemonade and Blackberry Lemon Twist are available in 732 7-Eleven stores across Florida; while all 109 Wegmans stores across the East Coast will include the three SKUs plus Orange Ginger.
“With each new retail partner, Odyssey Mushroom Elixir is taking a step forward in our mission to make functional mushrooms accessible and convenient for all. Through expanding availability into 7-Eleven, a prominent player in the U.S. convenience-retail industry, and Wegmans, a beloved supermarket, we are continuing our mission to make functional mushrooms more widely available,” Frohman explained.
While the benefits in mushrooms and adaptogens are widely known outside of Western culture like Traditional Chinese Medicine, Ayurvedic medicine and many indigenous medicinal practices, the ingredients are seeing a surge in the $204 billion functional beverage scene. Frohman believes that Odyssey Elixir’s mainstream presence in major retailers will “bring the product out of niche spaces into the larger beverage market.”
“While mushrooms have steadily gained prominence in mainstream CPG, making inroads through coffee and chocolate brands, Odyssey Mushroom Elixir is now bringing these same resonating ingredients to the ready-to-drink beverage aisle,” Frohman elaborated.
The brand offers three product lines, Original, Revive and 222, which contain no added sugar, preservatives, artificial flavors or sweeteners and are vegan, non-GMO and Kosher. The Original line features 85 mg of caffeine derived from green tea; Revive contains no caffeine; and 222 includes 222mg of caffeine from green tea.
Each line includes Odyssey Elixir’s signature blend of lion’s mane, cordyceps and adaptogenic botanicals like zinc, panax ginseng, green tea extract and l-theanine to promote “physical and mental wellbeing, as well as heightened focus and mindful energy,” he explained.
“We aim to disrupt the space by bringing wellness to the category with a product that uses green tea caffeine and promotes mindful energy without a crash,” Frohman added.
