19 Crimes moves into rum
Treasury Wine Estates’ 19 Crimes wine brand is launching 19 Crimes Spiced Rum in the UK this month.
The 19 Crimes Spiced Rum ‘heroes the flavors of tropical fruit with aromas of mango and pineapple with notes of caramel, molasses, and a hint of vanilla’.
Like its wine counterpart, 19 Crimes Spiced Rum uses a unique and unusual branding focus with a convict fronting its square bottle and an augmented reality label bringing to life the character of escapee Mary Bryant.
Russell Kirkham, Head of Regional Marketing EMEA Treasury Premium Brands said: “The 19 Crimes range of wines have been hugely successful. 19 Crimes is known for being a daring and rebellious brand that breaks the rules. After experimenting with barrel aged wines with our 19 Crimes Uprising range, we wanted to push the boundaries even further – taking a bold leap and creating a 19 Crimes Spiced Rum was the next natural step for us as a brand. The 19 Crimes Spiced Rum is a new and disruptive take on the rum category with a product aimed to open the eyes of the younger consumer to a world of high-quality spirits.”
The rum was created in partnership with international spirits business Quintessential Brands and Tactic Studio.
19 Crimes Spiced Rum is now available to purchase from Tesco stores nationwide with an RRP of £28.00 for 70cl (37.5% ABV).

The Prisoner: Limited Edition
Constellation Brands’ wine brand, The Prisoner, has announced the second release of Corrections.
The limited edition series aims to use art and wine to ‘shift cultural narratives around mass incarceration and advocate for change’.
This year, the winery has partnered with Philadelphia-based artist Jesse Krimes.
His featured work, Apokaluptein: 16389067 is a 15 by 40-ft artwork that was created during Krimes’s 70-month sentence and was intricately crafted from 39 prison bedsheets. The title, referencing the Greek origin of 'apocalypse' and Jesse's Federal Bureau of Prisons identification number, explores how media perceptions shape societal values.
A percentage of the sales from each Corrections bottle and a direct donation from The Prisoner will go towards The Center for Art & Advocacy.
