Papa Salt – the coastal gin founded by five friends including Margot Robbie – is set to arrive in the UK in June.

The gin ‘captures the feeling of an idyllic Australian beach day’, and was developed in partnership with Lord Byron Distillery in Byron Bay.

The distillery is a zero waste facility that operates entirely on renewable energy, while the gin’s recipe highlights distinct Australian botanicals such as wattle seed, wax flower and oyster shell.

Papa Salt is distilled in small batches on 1200L copper alembic pot.

Papa Salt will be available to purchase exclusively in Harvey Nichols stores from June 20 with a RRP of £42.50.

Indian whisky Indri

UK distributor Mangrove Global has expanded its world whisky portfolio with Indri, a spirit created by India’s largest independent malt spirit producer, Piccadily.

The whisky was launched in India in 2021, followed by the international market in 2022.

Mangrove will introduce Indri’s expressions, Dru and Trini, to the UK market: as well as limited volumes of Diwali.

The elements used across the Indri range are the perfect homage to the Northern Indian terroir. The spirit is made using natural Indian ingredients, including six-row barley, which has been grown in the arid regions of Rajasthan for thousands of years. Distilling and maturation happens in a sub-tropical climate which encourages accelerated evaporation, helping to mature the whisky much faster.

Stef Holt, Curator of the Mangrove Whisky Portfolio said: “There is something really exciting about whiskies produced and aged in such extreme climates - the way the production processes are tweaked because of this produces flavors you can’t find anywhere else. Indri’s whiskies are very rich and complex with tropical fruit aromas and velvety texture.”

Mangrove’s world whisky portfolio comprises whiskies from all over the world including countries like Denmark, Japan and most recently Canada, having launched Kiefer Sutherland’s Red Bank.

Imperial Tropical Punch Cider

Portland, Oregon’s Square Mile Cider has debuted its latest release - Imperial Tropical Punch Cider – in time for summer.

The strong Imperial Tropical Punch comes in at 9.1% ABV.

"In creating the Square Mile Imperial Tropical Punch, our aim was to craft a cider that exudes fruit-forward notes with a touch of sweetness, transporting you to a sun-soaked tropical oasis – in a can," shared Kaylen Gibbens, Brewmaster at Square Mile. "And we're excited to share as we’ve achieved just that! In 2024, our theme revolves around embracing a thirst for fun, mirroring the lively spirit embodied by this high-ABV imperial cider."

818 Tequila

818 Tequila, the premium tequila brand owned by Kendall Jenner, has officially launched in India.

The drink debuts in retail, hotels and restaurants in the Delhi NCR region and will continue its expansion across the country.

The tequila is created at a distillery in Amatitán, Mexico: with agaves slow-cooked for more than 30 hours and then crushed with traditional Tahona wheels. They then undergo a 48 hour natural fermentation process before being twice-distilled in alembic copper pot stills then aged in French and American oak barrels.

818 Tequila is distributed in India exclusively by Berry Beverages and imported by Berry Beverages and Zoup Beverages.

The name ‘818’ comes from the area code of Calabasas, California, where the brand was created. The spirit can be enjoyed neat, on the rocks or in cocktails.

Quarter proof

Quarter Proof – the company carving out the gap between traditional spirits and non-alcoholic spirits with quarter proof versions – is launching a 15% ABV vodka.

Three Grain Spirit is inspired by Polish Vodkas from the Żyrardów region of Poland. Made by blending and distilling three UK grown grains (Barley, Rye & Wheat), Quarter Proof combines traditional fermentation and distillation processes with new tech to lower the alcohol content. The result is a smooth yet characterful spirit, ideal over ice with a slice of lime and topped with soda.

As with all Quarter Proof Spirits, they are designed to be enjoyed in all the classic serves, whether that be a simple Vodka, Lime Soda or in an Espresso Martini or Cosmopolitan.

Quarter Proof’s suite of spirits include London Dry (Gin) and Blanco Agave (Tequila), with the addition of Three Grain Spirit (Vodka) in June. Quarter Proof can be found being poured at top bars, restaurants and hotels across the UK such as Soho House, The Newt, Granger&Co, The Pig, Gaucho and JKS Restaurants. It can also be purchased from Ocado, Fortnum & Mason, Berry Bros & Rudd, Planet Organic and Whole Foods.
