The NutraIngredients awards cover three key areas: Ingredients of the Year; Products of the Year and Specialty Awards.
These are then subdivided into numerous categories: where an expert panel of judges will assess each entry.
Ingredient of the Year: Sports Nutrition
The Ingredient of the Year in the Sports Nutrition category aims to celebrate the best ingredients dedicated to enhancing performance, boosting recovery, or aiding endurance. All ingredients specifically designed for and marketed with sports nutrition applications in mind are eligible for entry into this award. From high-end nutrient combinations aimed at elite athletes through to solutions for on the go consumers looking to get healthy, this award celebrates ingredients designed to meet the specific demands of the sports and active nutrition category.
Judges will look at how an ingredient meets specific needs and will base their scores on evidence to demonstrate:
- A genuine consumer demand or requirement based upon a common issue or risk factor
- Solid scientific evidence to demonstrate a unique nutritional solution to this need or problem – including peer-reviewed data to back up any performance or health claims made
- Commercial success and engagement from your core target market(s).

As well as celebrating the best in products and ingredients, there’s also awards for the best start-up, sustainability initiative, marketing initiative and nutrition research project.

According to Nikki Hancocks, Editor of NutraIngredients-Europe, winning a prestigious NutraIngredients Award will set your company apart from the competition, attracting new clients and customers.

The entries for the 17 different categories are open now and will close on Monday 3 February 2025. There is also a special early bird discount until 13 December 2024.
The winners will be announced at a party on 21 May in Barcelona.
