Plant-based peanut drink

Bonneterre
Oat and peanut blend (Bonneterre)

French brand Bonneterre has launched organic peanut-based drink.

The drink – which does not contain added sugar – can be enjoyed hot or cold: whether that’s by itself, in hot drinks, in smoothies or cocktails, or added to recipes.

Tapping into demand for plant-based alternatives, the brand predicts a return to popularity for the humble peanut. In fact, peanut butter consumption has increased in France by 23% over the last year.

Its high protein content, for example, can appeal to athletes and health conscious consumers.

The peanut-based drink joins Bonneterre’s range of 28 plant-based options: which include soy, almond, rice, hazelnut, barista-quality and oat.

Farrer’s introduces new single-origin coffee for winter

John Farrer & Co of Kendal, the UK’s oldest coffee roastery, has launched three new additions to its ‘Signature’ speciality coffee collection, especially for December 2024.

Farrer’s ‘Signature’ speciality coffee collection complements the company’s core range, adding carefully selected small-batch seasonal single-origin offerings from sustainable and responsible farms around the world.

The ‘Signature’ collection celebrates the very best coffee grown by small-scale dedicated farmers.Every coffee selected has been handpicked and selected by Farrer’s roadsters to provide their customers with access to premium coffees from among the most sought-after coffee crops produced by small single-estate plantations.

The latest addition to the range is China Kaku, produced by Kaku Farm in Paliang, Southwest Yunnan Province, China – and selected for its unique and distinctive flavor profiles. The Kaku farm yields roughly 20 tons per harvest. The coffee is first pulped and then dry-fermented for 18 hours. Subsequently, the coffee passes through density channels to sort for defects. Finally, the coffee is spread on concrete patios to dry for approximately 10 days.

This particular coffee is a delicate washed process coffee, delivering flavors of crisp apples, lime, apricot and vanilla.
