'We are family': Pernod Ricard keeps new executive business cards close

Pernod Ricard has revealed plans to appoint Alexandre Ricard as its next chairman and CEO from January 2015, as it reshuffles its executive pack following the surprise death of his uncle, chairman Patrick Ricard.

Danièle Ricard has been appointed chairman of the board, while Pierre Pringuet is appointed Vice-Chairman of the Board and will continue to act as CEO of the French wine and spirits giant.

His heir-in-waiting, Alexandre Ricard, is the new deputy CEO and COO, and has also become a company director in Patrick Ricard's place. He has also been co-opted as a Director to replace Patrick Ricard.

Paul-Charles Ricard has also been appointed as the board's new permanent representative, in place of Alexandre Ricard, on a day when the Paris-based company released its 2011/12 results for the year to June 30.

Danièle Ricard said: “As Chairman of the board of directors, I would like to reiterate the Ricard family’s commitment to pursue the Group’s strategy and development. Pierre Pringuet and his management team have our full support.”

Alexandre Ricard added: “I would like to thank Pierre Pringuet and the board of directors. I have worked closely with Pierre Pringuet for many years and we share the same vision for the Group.”
