E. coli bacteria were found in the water supply on June 10 but there have been no complaints of illness, said the firm.
It added as the spring source did not notify it in a timely manner, it has discontinued its use.
Niagara Bottling is recalling all spring water products produced at the Hamburg and Allentown, Pennsylvania facilities from 3am (EDT) June 10 to 8pm (EDT) June 18.
The products were sold under brand names Acadia, Acme, Big Y, Best Yet, 7-11, Niagara, Nature’s Place, Pricerite, Superchill, Morning Fresh, Shaws, Shoprite, Western Beef Blue and Wegman’s.
Affected products have codes that begin with the letter F (for Hamburg) or A (for Allentown). The first digit after the letter indicates the number of the production line. The next two numbers indicate the day, the month in letters, the year, and then the time, based on a 24-hour clock, said the firm.
The firm advised consumers not to drink the affected water without boiling it to kill the bacteria or to use other bottled water.
