Karlshamns responds to environmental fears

Swedish manufacturer of speciality vegetable fats Karlshamns has clarified its position on the ongoing issue that suggests the production of soybean and palm oil in Brazil and South East Asia is destroying valuable natural environments.

Coke to invest €100m for Indian facilities

Coca-Cola is set to invest around €100 million to expand its existing beverage manufacturing facilities in India in an effort to keep up with increasing demand for bottled water and carbonated drinks.

Cheerwine launched in Norway

Cheerwine, the quirky US soft drink which is popular in the southeastern states, is now available for the first time in Europe. Norway will be the first market for the cherry-flavoured soft drink outside North America.

Constellation seeks starring role in Hardy expansion

Constellation Brands has confirmed that it is in advanced talks with Australia's biggest winery BRL Hardy. A merger of the two groups would form the world's largest wine group, with several strong New World brands.

Beer quality and hygiene award

Last minute entries have been requested for the Oxoid Award for Beer Quality and BreweryHygiene, organised in conjunction with the Institute and Guild of Brewing(IGB). The organisers say that entries should be in by 28 February 2003.
