From iced coffee to hydration drinks, we take a look at some of the new beverage innovations launching around the globe.

Death Wish Coffee

death wish cofee

Fair Trade and Organic coffee brand, Death Wish Coffee Co., has launched its first coffee designed specially for iced coffee.

Ice Breaker will be available for a limited time this summer. The medium roast blend is crafted with Peruvian and Guatemalan Arabica and Indian Cherry Robusta beans, designed to be smooth with a ‘subtle sweetness and moderate brightness’ when cold.

Seventy-three percent of Gen Z consumers drink iced coffee weekly, with 80% of consumption at home, according to Beverage Segmentation 2021 and Kantar Millward Brown.

RTD mimosas

suntide

RTD mimosa brand Suntide has unveiled its first ever variety pack with four flavors: passionfruit, mango, pineapple and guava strawberry.

Each pack contains eight 12oz canned mimosas made from sparkling wine and real juice, free from added preservatives and artificial flavors. At 5.5% ABV, the mimosas are designed to be enjoyed anytime, anywhere.

The brand was founded by Bay Area siblings Lyda, Spencer and Wyatt Hanson: who drew on their time hiking and surfing in California as their inspiration for the brand.

The Tropics Variety Pack is now available for purchase at select retailers throughout Northern California, with MSRP ranging from $18.99 to $21.99.

Goslings Black Seal Rum

goslings

Goslings – Bermuda’s oldest company and largest export – has released a new limited edition bottle design for Goslings Black Seal Rum.

Goslings embraces its Bermuda heritage, an island paradise synonymous with relaxation, and the limited edition bottle is accompanied by a new brand world launch.

The new limited-edition packaging redesign, created by creative agency Quaker City Mercantile, features vibrant Bermudian green, pink, and yellow colors on four bottle wraps of the Goslings Black Seal Rum, inspired by the island’s colorful buildings and matching the new aesthetic of the brand.

The rum inside is the same, using the finest distallates aged in charred American Oak casks.

Iced tea

davids tea

Canadian brand DAVIDsTEA is launching Sparkling Cold Brew Tea, a premium iced tea for on-the-go consumption.

The tea is made with real ingredients and steeped in cold water to create a full-flavored tea without bitterness.

The RTD comes in three flavors, based on DAVIDsTEA’s best-selling teas. These are Organic Cream of Earl Grey, Organic Queen of Tarts and Magic Potion (a caffeine-free herbal tea).

Premium spiced rum

Aluna Tropica HR

Aluna Rum is expanding its range in the UK with Aluna Tropica.

Aluna Tropica blends premium rums sourced from Sri Lanka and the Caribbean with the exotic flavors of South Asia to create ‘a true taste of the tropics’.

The spirit contains flavors of pineapple, lemongrass and almonds, with a smooth finish of honeyed spice.

The first release was Aluna Coconut Rum (which set out to challenge the idea of sickly sweet and synthetically made coconut rums); followed by two lower-sugar rum-based liqueurs, Aluna Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur and Aluna Peach & Pomelo Liqueur.

Aluna Tropica uses all-natural South Asian ingredients including pandan leaf, spiced pineapple, lemongrass, and galangal. It can be enjoyed neat or in a cocktail.

Co-founders Heather Graham and Guy Ritchie have spent time working with William Grant, Pernod Ricard and others, building brands such as Reyka, The Kraken and Bushmills. They set out to use this experience to develop a brand of more nuanced natural spirits that appeals to the modern consumer.

“We have focused on taking a step away from the usual dark rums and sugary profiles,” said Graham. “The freedom to select from a greater diversity of premium world rums whilst experimenting with new culinary ingredients from South Asia has allowed us to create a really appealing product for those who like to explore better drinks.”
