New USB socket will make data collection easier for food industry – Mettler-Toledo
The port will be installed into metal detection, x-ray and checkweigher systems so product inspection records can be stored on a removable USB or flash drive and easily accessed if issues arise.
The global supplier of metal detection technology said it will make the collection process simpler, safer and less prone to error, replacing previous manual records and paper-based reports.
Jonathan Richards, marketing manager of Mettler-Toledo Safeline metal detection told FoodProductionDaily.com he hoped it would become a part of daily life.
“Hopefully it will become the standard way of accessing data from machines and become part of normal everyday life.
“The USB data collection option will enable manufacturers to more easily and reliably show that all necessary measures and reasonable precautions were taken to protect customers from any risks and thus, will help to protect their brand reputation,” he said.
