Accelerade, the sports drink brand produced by PacificHealth Laboratories, has become the official sponsor of The Hoop Group, an organisation which runs basketball training camps for would-be athletes.
The Hoop Group runs camps and training programmes for nearly15,000 students from across the US, all of whom will now have exclusive access to the nutritional qualities of Accelerade.
PacificHealth claims that Accelerade is the first sports drink engineered to meet all the hydration, energy and nutrition needs of working muscles, with a patented four-to-one ratio of carbohydrates to protein which is designed to speed the movement of carbohydrate into the muscle. The company said it had been clinically proven to extend endurance by 24 per cent compared to a conventional sports drink and 57 per cent compared to water.
