Glen Turner extends rum recall for bottles containing fragments of glass

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has announced Glen Turner has extended its recall of rum products produced for Asda and Aldi as they may contain small fragments of glass.

The recall includes 70cl bottles of dark and white rum produced for Asda and Aldi with more lot codes added to the list.

Aldi's Old Hopking brands and Asda's own brand Carta Blanca Superior White Rum and Refined Dark Navy Rum while Asda's Liberty Ship Superior Dark Rum and Superior White Rum are affected

The FSA warned the rum could pose a possible health risk and urged anyone who had bought the alcohol not to drink it but to return it to the stores for a full refund.

The Bathgate-based firm in Lothian said the recall was due to a manufacturing defect in a limited number of bottles.
