German packaging and bottling machine manufacturer Krones AG has acquired US-based processing equipment company Sprinkman.

Sprinkman was founded in 1929 and employs 125 workers at its Wisconsin locations. The headquarters and management will stay in Waukesha and production facility in Elroy through the acquisition.

According to Krones, Sprinkman generates approximately $35m in revenue for manufacturing food and beverage processing equipment. Sprinkman specializes in the dairy and brewing industries, serving both startup microbreweries and large multinational food and beverage companies.

“By acquiring Sprinkman, Krones and its other recent acquisitions enhance the capabilities of the ‘House of Krones’ product portfolio in North America, ranging from process technology solutions and bottling and packaging equipment to intralogistics, IT solutions, plastics recycling, and entire lifecycle service support,” Krones said.

The ‘House of Krones’ division comprises not only the German headquarters, but also more than 20 subsidiaries around the globe. Krones employs 16,000 workers at more than 100 international sites.
